"Armor Plates"

Today, I got things for the fundamental building:

- Panzer Tracts No. 5-3 (Panther, Ausführung G)
- Styrene Round Rod (6,4mm)
- Styrene Sheet, 2,0mm and 0,5mm (That´s not in scale but it is solid)

First, I have to familiarize myself to the book, the technical drawings.
Then I will built up a new test with paper.

"Paper- Tank"

Today I made a first try building up the turret with paper.
That´s about the size of it:

My Project

I´m very interested in painting figures and modelling.
Lately, I found a really great bust by the manufacturer "Young Miniatures": "Max Wünsche, Western Front 1944".

So, I thought this would be the perfect piece in association to my grandfather because he was also a tank commander in Normandy 1944.

This kit is in scale 1:10, a really big model.

I will built up in scratch a complete Panther- turret...

Background Information

In 1944 my grandfather had to change his position from the russian front to the western front in Normandy, France.

There he became, as soldier of the Waffen-SS, a tank commander of ("damalig besten Panzer") the best tank at that time. Either a Tiger or a Panther tank.

He was awarded with the Iron Cross 2. Class and the Iron Cross 1. Class. He fought until the end of the war.
